Don Pepe Estate is a family farm that since 1898 has been dedicated to the cultivation of coffee, is located in the foothills of Barú Volcano, in an area called Volcancito in Boquete, Chiriquí, Panama. The altitude is 1,500 to 2,000 meters above sea level, and they have 70 hectares of land; 59 of which are dedicated to coffee cultivation, and 11 set aside as a natural reserve.
Due to their traceability system Don Pepe Estate Coffee products manage to meet the highest export standards, which has allowed them to obtain important acceptance in prestigious markets such as Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore.
Currently we at Latin American Coffee Connection in Singapore carry two of their coffees which you can enjoy as part of the Don Pepe Estate Sampler – both are Washed Process coffee.
Washed processed coffees have a lighter and cleaner body with a more refreshing palate than natural processed coffees; its brewed coffee usually has greater vibrancy as its clean acidity smoothens the aftertaste. On top of that, the coffee taste is still as fruity as its natural bean, whereas the nuances might be more distinct.
